In Oedipus Rex scene 4, the shepherd appeared in front of Oedipus, and the king interrogated him. He asked him the name of the person who gave him the baby. The shepherd refused to disclose anything at first. But Oedipus threatened him that if he didn’t tell the truth, he would torture him.
At last, he told Oedipus that the child came from the home of Laius. When Oedipus further questioned him, he told the king that the child was the son of Laius.
